Privacy policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data Industrial Welding Services Ltd collects through this website, why we collect it and what rights you have over it. It covers this website only — not the records we keep as part of a signed works contract.

Who is responsible for your data

Industrial Welding Services Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at 220 Birmingham B16 8EQ, United Kingdom, by email at info@industrialweldingservices.co.uk, or by phone on +44 7547 783499.

What we collect

The enquiry form on this site opens a message in your own email application. Whatever you type into it — your name, your email address and the description of your project — reaches us as an ordinary email. It is not stored on this website and does not pass through a form-processing service.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time of each request. These are generated automatically by the web server.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use the details in your enquiry to answer you, to prepare a quote and to carry out the work you ask us for. The lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

We use server logs to keep the site available and to investigate abuse or technical faults. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell them.

Who we share it with

Your data is handled by our email and hosting providers, which act on our instructions and are bound to keep it confidential. Beyond that, we disclose personal data only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as there is a live commercial relationship, and for up to six years afterwards where we need it to meet contractual, insurance and tax record-keeping obligations. Server logs are kept for a short period, typically a few weeks, and then discarded.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to info@industrialweldingservices.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set advertising, analytics or profiling cookies, and it does not embed third-party tracking scripts. Fonts, images and video are served from our own domain, so browsing these pages does not send requests to external services.

If we add analytics or embedded content in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Storage and international transfers

Our providers store data in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area wherever possible. If data is processed outside that area, we rely on the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law, such as an International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised.
