The enquiry form collects your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, and whatever you write in the message. It reaches us as an email and is not stored in a database on this site.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time of each request. These are generated automatically by the web server.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends Google the pages you view, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and where you arrived from.

We use the details in your enquiry to answer you, to prepare a quote and to carry out the work you ask us for. The lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

Your data is handled by our hosting, email and analytics providers, which act on our instructions and are bound to keep it confidential: Cloudflare hosts this site and delivers the contact form, and Google provides the analytics.

Beyond that, we disclose personal data only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as there is a live commercial relationship, and for up to six years afterwards where we need it to meet contractual, insurance and tax record-keeping obligations. Server logs are kept for a short period, typically a few weeks, and then discarded.

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to admin@globallinkwelding.com and we will respond within one month.
